Hardly any other city in Germany has the same weight "birth certificate" as Regensburg : when excavation in 1873 was discovered some stone slabs weighing about a ton, an inscription which states that the Roman fort «Castra Regina» was erected at the behest of Emperor Marcus Aurelius in 179 AD
Already wrote of Regensburg: "City of the young and ancient at the same time and again:" In Germany there is no more glorious city than Regensburg.
When the Roman legions win for the empire the land north of the Alps on the banks of the Danube, there were already many keltkih settlements hier, including "Radasbona» («Radasbona») on a bend of a river.
