Hardly any other city in Germany has the same weight "birth certificate" as Regensburg
: when excavation in 1873 was discovered some stone slabs weighing about a ton, an inscription which states that the Roman fort «Castra Regina» was erected at the behest of Emperor Marcus Aurelius in 179 AD
